a big jointer is appealing. I occasionally see a video where someone runs a huge board over a jointer that looks like and aircraft carrier and flattens it as if it were nothing and I drool...a little. There is a huge slab table in my future and I am already scheming on a router sled.

Part of my problem is that planing almost anything is an athletic event. (That might be good for me) To plan a long piece in my tiny shop it starts under the workbench, through the planer and under the wing of the TS. Then there is something of a lung to support it and retrieve it awkwardly out from under and up and over. Long being anything over about five feet and the longer it gets the harder it gets.
