Subject:
OT -Home generator question

Ralph Lipeles
My son has a 3000 watt Honda generator for use when local power is not available. He first disconnects the house power by flipping the circuit breaker Main Switch to off. He then connects the Honda by using a 14 gauge wire, with a plug on each end, between the generator and a convenient socket in the garage. That works fine. He now tells me that he would like another 2 plug wire so that he get the other half of his house working. He thinks that he can hook up both halves at the same time. I am concerned that some of his house wiring can have the hot lead and ground interchanged which would cause a serious problem. Anybody have any thoughts on this.
