Hardly. There are 4- mortise and tenons fastening the column to the base and they are spaced orthogonal and 4" spread between them. If someone sits on the table it will either tip over or the "arms" supporting the top will break off. I can not see any force the table would be subjected to that would challenge this connection of column to base. Even in pine with hasty M&T joints the post is solid. The large spacing and orthogonal orientation provides huge resistance to stress in any direction.
