Just don't curve the bottom more than the curve of your chef's knife. :) That became obvious to me when a regular old flat chopping board warped after a trip through the dish washer.

If you use it for chopping nuts, even 3/4" at the back might not be enough, since most of the trajectories are to the side, where the wall is lower.
