Finished our bed

^^^Bill good on ya for passing your knowledge to the next generation. I'll add that while teaching is exhausting, *learning* is pretty fatiguing as well :-) I'm reminded of this as I recently started at a new company and am buried...

Not much time for woodworking for me, except this bed project which I've only been able to take a few hours/weekend to pick away at. Last night we slept on it for the first time. The pine slats still have that wonderful pine smell.

1st growth Redwood veneer applied to a curved headboard panel (both inward and backward). Frame is in poplar with coats of red and then black milk paint followed by a poly topcoat. on the bench is a mind-span "spine" that supports the slats to prevent sagging.
