Re: Dust Collection for Router Table *LINK*

Hank Knight

I bought an inexpensive under-the-table collection gizmo from Rockler about four years ago that has amazed me. It is a cheesy-looking flexible donut that attaches to the under side of the table with velcro. It captures virtually 100% of the dust and chips that the router ejects below the table. Combined with an above-the-table collector attached to the fence, it captures ALL of the dust and chips from my router table. Here are some photos:

The under-the-table "donut" takes up very little space, and it does not hamper bit changes. I was less than impressed with it when I first saw it, but I thought I'd give it a try. I'm glad I did. it works great and I have had zero trouble with it since in installed it.

The gizmo comes with a "splitter" that allows you to divide the dust collection vacuum duct and collect the above-the-table and the below-the-table dust and chips with the same duct. I don't know how that works because I ran my collection hoses separately, as you see in the photos. In any event, I thought I would bring this to your attention. I like it a lot. Here is an Amazon link to the product:
