the project invisioned is the recreation in laminated wood the frame work of old style human powered tools. because of the organic shape of these old machines it seems to me that the parts would best be made with laminated lumber. the only common laminated material in my shop is plywood and i dont use the all same jointing methods with it that i use with dimensional lumber or mdf. j osgood is credited with developing joints for his work that are unique to him and apparently his wide uses of laminated parts. he is apparently not available to quiz on the matter of jointing laminated parts so ive come here. one source suggested that the parts be jointed with floating tenions. before i invest the time and material in the projectid like to know that it wont be screwed up by bad or inappropate joints. im not after a book just a quick list of do's and dont's and possiblely a list of joints that work with laminated parts. thank you
