I tried using a little gear motor like one shown from Surplus Center (I think that's right) and it overheated pretty quickly and just shut off. The application was a bit different ... it wasn't turning much weight, but it needed to run, probably 8 hours, or overnight.

How do you get past the overheating issue? Or did I simply have a cheap motor?
