Here's some painting advice.

Don't.

Painted oak cabinets, IMHO, never look all that great. Plus, if you're moving, you're just handing over a mess to the next owner, because once they're painted, they'll continue to have to be painted. Clean 'em up, maybe do some touch-up staining, maybe even some new hardware, but don't paint them. If they're that dated looking, the next owners will probably want to replace them anyway, painted or not.

Just my thoughts as a pro painter.
