But out here rural coverage is awful, as in non-existent outside the freeway corridors. Other parts of the country it may be a different story. I bought a Virgin phone (knowing about the coverage problem) so that I could make and receive calls during my long commute - covered for about 3/4 of it. Could have gone with Verizon, but didn't want a monthly bill, and they don't seem to play with any of the pay as you go companies.
