Good Afternoon JL,

That happened to me in an older car, and I tried spray adhesive. The adhesive worked very well, but I couldn't align the fabric properly. It had stretched, and frankly, looked awful and ill-fitting. I wound up stapling it to the foam backer and that worked well, save for the staples showing.
It was a nice car, but I didn't have the money at the time to have it done professionally.
