The only thing with donating, is if you take it to thrifts, etc, if it doesn't work (you inidcated needing fixing), they usually trash it.
Kinda defeats the prupose. If you have an old tool that needs rebuilding (bearings, switch, etc), it may be better to sell it here or something.
