I seem to recall some classes in school that required little brain power. I suspect as much is still true. I was never too keen on math in school but I discovered that once I took up woodworking I found myself using it all the time. The point is that woodworking is a great way to use the mind and learn. Woodworking has a sneaky way of making us use our brains for problem solving, geometry, physics etc. And, if you get a coffee table out of it then that's icing on the cake!
