will last forever. Probably cheaper too.
I have used black locust as "replacement teak" on my boat for ages - weathers to a nice grey like untreated teak, but stronger and wears better.
Just remember to pre-drill all screw holes - and lubricate screws with linseed oil if you waqnt to be able to remove them at any time later.
