Seriously. The Federal Communications Commission has announced the following totals for broadcast stations licensed as of March 31, 2004:
AM STATIONS - 4781
FM COMMERCIAL - 6224
FM EDUCATIONAL - 2471
TOTAL: 13,476

This is 2004 before ipads and iphones, does not include power blasters from Mexico. Don't forget there are at least 350 internet stations.
