I'm with Bill on this issue. I use generics on the farm and if I follow mixing and application directions, it works the same as Roundup. You need to read the list of plants that it is or isn't effective on, and the time of year to spray. It's works best on young actively growing plants. You may have to apply twice on tougher vegatation. As for English Ivy, the most effective control at ground level is deer, they love the stuff. But once it gets up a tree where they can't reach the leaves, it keeps on going up. I have a huge Hackberry that's covered with the stuff all the way to the top which is probably 60 or 70 feet. But the deer keep all of the leaves cropped off for the first 5 feet off the ground.
