The Showy Lady Slipper is Minnesota's state flower. When I've found them they are always in the most picturesque situations. Since the flowers don't last long it is a real luck of timing to see them in bloom.

Lady slippers rarely survive transplanting. They are sooo delicate. Make a note and return every year at this time to enjoy the beauty.
