I don't mean this to be harsh....but learn to apply the correct amount of glue. If more than a tiny bead squeezes out too much has been applied. Application with a brush helps to get an optimum amount on each surface. I buy "acid brushes" (metal handle and 1/2" stiff black bristles) for these tasks.
