OT Satellite internet ()

John, I have had HughesNet for about five years. It is better than dialup but no where near as good as cable. Both HN and Wild Blue have what they call "Fair Access Policies". That is a system where if you download more than a predetermined amount they throttle your access way back. In the HN case it used to be that you were cut back for 24 hours and in the WB case, I am told, you were cut back for a much longer period of time. HN has recently changed their policies so that it is not the big issue that it once was. It still is an issue but less of an issue than it was. Don't expect downloads of streaming video from any of the satellite companies.
