I have the same exact saw and had the same exact occurance.
I took the motor to the nearest electric motor shop and they agreed it was toast.
They then found me a replacement 2HP motor with proper mounts. It fit right in!
I can check when I get home what make and model number I got and you should be able to look it up on the internet and pick one up. It was a few hundred bucks but far less than a new saw and now plenty powerful enough for resawing.
BTW, I only use a 1/2" blade for resawing.
