Thanks so much for that detailed solution. I have to say that after this happened I did do some of what you suggested, I clamped the bowed pieces, resawn side out, for about 5 days and when I pulled them apart the cupping was much reduced significantly but not totally gone. It was off about 1/8" over a 4' board, which isn't too bad.
I have a few more pieces I have to resaw, I will try your technique of wetting the outsides of the board prior to cutting.
