OT Ice Maker questions ()

Many ice makers have a temp sensor that detects that the freezer is cold enough to make ice. This is usually minus 5° to -10° F. Ice cycle will not start until temp sensor makes contact. Make sure that freezer has not lost some of its cooling ability. Have you cleaned the condenser coil underneath? Is the defrost cycle working properly? Is there good airflow from the freezer into the refrig side? Is your thermostat keeping the box temp the same? Thermostats start failing by allowing temp to rise. None of these will be fixed by a new icemaker. Do you have children(or big children...that is YOU ) that stand with door open deciding what they want to eat?
