Barry How old is your fridge is the ice maker the same age? If both are say maybe years even 6-8 then look at the ice maker and if you can see the bottom of the ice cube tray, where the water is keeped while it is being frozen, and if that tray at the bottom looks kind of like the coating is wearing off, then you need a new maker. That coating is to keep the ice from completely freezing to the bottom, something like a Teflon pan. Another maybe your filter, if you have one. One wat to test the filter is if you have a place to fill a cup of water, take a cup of water and time it on how long it takes to fill your cup. Now take your filter out and take your cup and time how long it takes to fill the cup without your filter in-line. If it does not fill your cup quite as full then you need a new filter, because your filter is dirty. I hope this helped. Larry
