What I do in these situationsResponse To:
OT Ice Maker questions () Bill Tindall
Even in E. TN we have appliance repair parts stores. When our ice maker, or other appliance, fails I go to the store, describe the symptoms and the nice lady sells me the parts necessary. The whole ice maker unit cost less than $100 that last one I replaced. (I was told to sniff a certain part and if it smelled like fried electronics I needed a new one).
All ours flex the tray to eject the ice. The whole process is on a timer. If the cubes are full sized the fill cycle is functioning properly. Well, actually, if the cubes are full sized the whole unit is functioning properly, in our case.
