I bought a good grade old iron cabinet saw +++ it has cast iron base!!, for 60 bucks. Kinda deal that needs a fence upgrade, but I'm thinking more Inca out of scrap than an aftermarket, even though I already own one.

Speaking of Inca, I bought one of those with a mortiser, and it was under 500.

So I don't see any reason to buy some saw that is specifically designed to do something other than what I do, on the basis of cost.
