Yes, Don, but the method I use when making a project is: get the idea clear in my mind; draw some patterns on posterboard to work out any miscues first; cut out the patterns and make some wooden ones of those patterns(save them for later too); cut the pieces of wood to length on chopsaw; draw the patern on surface of wood and bandsaw where needed; Sand, sand, sand; then route the edges before installation;
setup lathe to make the dowels(14 per chair), did 12 yesterday and tried the other 6 this morning, but something is amiss...seems the wood cracks and flies off the lathe or the faceplate comes loose on a couple. So, I gave it up for today and hope to watch the 500 later tonight.
