SawStop on Colbert Report ()

Or you can watch it now at this link. http://www.hulu.com/watch/329024/the-colbert-report-people-who-are-destroying-america-sawstop. My feeling on the whole deal is where will it stop ? BandSawStop ? JointerStop ? DrillPressStop ? RouterStop ? CircularSawStop ? Etc. It would get so expensive for most people to start the hobby, that I think it would just about kill the hobby off. Since SawStop came out, the price of just about all the Cabinet saws have made an almost immediate jump of $1000. And with less people being able to retire, which makes up a good percentage of woodworkers, the hobby is already struggling in my opinion. If it wasn't for the DIY home remodeler, things would be even worse. What makes the SawStop even more repulsive in my mind is the fact that they want to shove it down the throat of the American people, but aren't willing to suport American jobs, the saws are made in Taiwan. No thanks, the day I'm forced to buy such nonsense will be the day that I hangup Woodworking. In my opinion there are other things to worry about, such as dust containment. I wonder how many people are sent to the hospital because of a dust related illness or death. Face it, woodworking is a dangerous and some times an unhealthy thing to do. There are risks to everything, if you can't agree to take those risks, then don't do it, stay out of it. The next time I hear about the SissySaw will be too soon.
