A woodworking shop is like having a life boat or boat anchor. It can be the thing that frees you up or ties you down-usually both-balancing the two is a never ending act. A year ago at this time I was plowing through my third Ken Follet novel in three months as I had no woodworking to speak of-I really enjoyed the time to read. This year has started off with a bang though-and i have more than enough to keep me busy. No reading in sight ....
I am currently finishing up a kitchen island for our house. Then I have to tackle several commission including a pair of night stands, a coffee table and a large memorial cross.
Here are some pictures of the Island so far- The top is sapele with breadboard ends, the case is in French Country style and will be painted white. -Alan
