    My granddaughter just got married last month. Her new husband is due home the day before his birthday after fulfilling his service in Iraq next week. After their honeymoon they stopped in for a visit and during conversation he casually mentioned that he needed to buy a small gun cabinet. However, everything he looked at was expensive. So I cobbled this wall rack together for his birthday. It’s not fine furniture but it should do until they get on their feet financially. Besides, I like doing things for our veterans.
Doug's Gun Rack
    It is made of solid cherry. I used a piece of Luan for the back panel. It holds three rifles or shotguns and the bottom storage will hold shotgun shells or magazines for his rifle. The door for the bottom storage is attached with a piano hinge and the latch to keep it closed is a pair of rare earth magnets.
