This classic styled cherry vanity is sure to please.

    This project was inspired by a request from my wife. One day she said, “I’m tired of having to stand in front of the bathroom mirror while putting on my makeup and doing my hair. I’d like a place where I could sit and have my makeup nearby”.

    The first thing I thought of was some kind of vanity with a mirror. I searched the Internet looking at pictures as well as the many books in my home woodworking library. What I came up with is a combination of those designs. The vanity is made of cherry. The finish starts with boiled linseed oil. Once dry, shellac is applied, and then some varnish completes the finish.
