HOW TO DIVIDE A ROOM GRACEFULLY
...with etched glass and solid cherry!SHOP OWNER: Virgil Johnson
LOCATION: Versailles, KYThis is a room divider that I built in 1996. It was built from air-dried cherry and features frame-and-panel construction and etched glass panels. The framework is put together with mortise-and-tenon joints and the glass is enclosed in a rabbeted pocket with 1/8 x 3/8 cherry molding tacked in place with brass pins. The finish is satin Deft lacquer over Deft Oil.
I etched the glass panels with fine glass beads in a sandblaster using duct tape to mask off the desired area....Virgil Johnson
