Sorting hardware can make a mess of the tidiest shop.

A few weeks ago I spent a couple days re-organizing my fasteners and miscellaneous stuff for my tackle box and drawer system in my truck. All this work took place on my table saw and out-feed table. In an earlier Shop Shot I showed a couple photos of my tablesaw and extension table, and I thought it would be fun to submit this photo of the same tablesaw looking cluttered. We all like to submit photos of our finest hour; here is a photo of a not-finest hour.
I design, construct and install custom cabinets as well as factory-built units. Due to the variability of the cabinets I install, I need to carry an assorted and sundry supply of fasteners, hardware, etc. In the photo you can see a couple of the tackle boxes and three of the eight drawers that fit into my truck. Basically, I can install any type of woodwork from the back of my truck utilizing various fastening devices. When I'm on the job site, most of the subs I work with regularly have come to know me as the "hardware store on wheels."
We're havin' fun now !. . . William Larson
