CARVINGS AND MORE
A mini-gallery from a lady with many woodworking interests.
SHOP OWNER: Barb Siddiqui
LOCATION: Wenatchee, WA
I am a bookstore owner in central WA state, a writer, and a weekend woodworker, beginning to make the transition from all hand tools to power in my small garage shop. Here are some shots of my work.
The stump carving (left) is of catalpa and the other (below) is driftwood.
This jewelry box is of English Walnut with store bought divider inserts.
The scrap wood end table at left was the subject of an article in Popular Woodworking (April '97) about scavenging for materials. A new article on having kids in the shop will be published within a few months at the same magazine.
The planter/telephone stand represents sixteen angled mortise and tenons all handsawn, and a hand planed bevel undercut on the maple top. This is where the new router and table will be welcome for a next project.
