American jointer

AMERICAN JOINTER
According to William Kerfoot, who sent us several scans from old books and catalogs, Dave's jointer "looks like [it was manufactured in the] 20s or 30's. As far as I have been able to ascertain, American invented the wedge-bed design jointer, in the 1870s or 1880s, and had 'over 3,000 in use by 1903' (See
Vintage Woodworking Machinery by Dana M. Batory, ISBN #1-879335-75-1.) The company merged with P.B. Yates in 1925 to form Yates-American."

Thanks again to William for helping us out with this information.
